Our client, a subsidary of a large pharma group offering services in Medical Surgical & Consumables, Critical Care, Service & Calibration currently has an exciting opportunity for an IT Support Engineer to join a project team for the implementation and support of clinical information systems within their group portfolio.

Based in the client's head office in Naas, County Kildare, the primary responsibilities of the IT Support Engineer are to install, commission and support healthcare clinical ICT systems in hospitals across Ireland.

Role Responsibilities

  • Installation and Configuration of IT systems supplied by ICT Division.
  • Interfacing with Hospital Wide Information Systems such as Laboratory and PACS systems
  • Prepare all the validation documentations and material in accordance with the project plans
  • Liaise with the ICT Service Manager to ensure all systems are implemented in a timely manner
  • Deliver and manage Training for system post implementation
  • Take part in meetings with Hospital Implementation Groups (HIG) to identify the requirements at each site
  • Assist in development of Project Management systems to be used for Project tracking, Status reports, Call Logging etc.
  • Assist in development and operation of in house structures to deal with support and service of all IT Systems
  • Active participation in a 24x7 on call rotation and occasional work outside of normal business hours required
  • Provide Support and Maintenance functions as and when required. This includes Helpdesk duties, customer issue troubleshooting, upgrades, installations etc.
  • Assist in other Health Informatics concerns such as creating content for website, attending conferences and other general day to day administration task

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Have previous experience of System Deployment
  • Have previous experience of IT Support
  • Have experience of MS SQL 2005 /2008
  • Knowledge of Networking Technologies
  • Have experience with Software Configuration
  • Have experience with Virtual Machine Technology
  • Have experience with Citrix clients
  • Have strong Project Management skills
  • Be required to travel throughout the Republic of Ireland
  • Have strong Problem Solving skills
  • Provide Training to key personnel on-site
  • Have excellent Customer Service skills
  • Possess a full, clean driving license
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary and Benefits
