Senior DevOps Engineer – Digitary - Melbourne

We are now looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Melbourne team and to assist both our existing Higher Education customers, and our new wave of international University clients as they onboard onto our SaaS platform.

Responsibilities

This technical role is to design, roll out and manage our SaaS platform for a new wave of international University customers. The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Build and manage our AWS-based infrastructure as code to automatically handle continuous integration, rolling deployments, failover, auto-scaling, and backups using:
  • AWS EC2, RDS, ElastiCache, CloudHSM, ECR, elastic search, S3 and CloudWatch
  • Continuous Build + Integration, Docker, NGiNX, Apache, MySQL/Aurora, TLS/SSL
  • Linux systems administration (Ubuntu & Centos) and bash scripting
  • Terraform and Kubernetes to build and manage containers
  • The successful applicant will be required to setup 24/7 remote monitoring and be part of a global support team who will implement a round the clock SLA for our University customers around the world.
  • Work with an expert security monitoring team to resolve any security issues as they arise.
  • Assist the Customer Support team with issues that may arise after the customer goes live.
  • Work with external security consultants to prepare the company for ISO27001 accreditation.

Required Skills, Education & Experience

  • Fluent oral and written English
  • 5+ years professional experience of Linux systems administration
  • BSc in Computer Science or related field
  • AWS EC2, RDS, S3, Kubernetes, Terraform
  • Continuous Integration, Docker, NGiNX, Apache, MySQL, Aurora, TLS/SSL
  • Linux systems administration (Ubuntu & Centos) and bash scripting
  • Deep understanding of information security technologies
  • Previous experience in formal change management processes

Desired Skills/Experience

  • AWS ElastiCache, CloudHSM, IAM
  • Atlassian Suite (Confluence / JIRA / Bamboo / Bitbucket)
  • Zendesk Customer Support portal
  • Ansible
