Business Plus: Tech Trends 2010 Survey

Last month the renowned Irish business magazine Business Plus released their Tech Trends Survey 2010. Business Plus do a series of very well respected surveys throughout the year that you can find on their website. They look in detail at the trends in each sector and what the following year will hold for Irish companies.

Funding Shortfall hits IT market

We believe the IT sector is vital to the future success of Ireland's economy and have been stressing the importance of ensuring the workforce are trained in the skills needed by the myriad of IT companies that are located here. Again and again we are seeing a worrying trend that international IT companies are finding it difficult to find suitably trained staff, with result that that are having to hire from abroad. This is a trend we are experience first hand and means that Ireland is literally throwing jobs away.

Verify Recruitment launched last in November 2009 and our new approach to IT recruitment with our expert Verify Panel of assessors has quickly got the attention of the media; one of Ireland's most repescted newsaper, The Sunday Business Post, dedicated a it's entire HR page to covering what we were doing including a large photo of Cathal Grogan, our Managing Director who was flanked by key members of the Verify Panel.

The middle of a recession may not seem like the most obvious time to launch a recruitment consultancy but Verify Recruitment, which was launched in November 2009, aims to make a name for itself by leading a major shift in recruitment practices in Ireland's burgeoning IT sector.

In January 2010 we featured in Ireland's leading business newspaper, The Sunday Business Post. The 'People In Business' section focuses on the people who are behind businesses in Ireland that are doing things different or applying a new focus to their sector. In this article our Managing Director, Cathal Grogan, took the opportunity remind Irish readers just how vital the IT sector is to Ireland's economic recovery.

In January 2010, Verify Recruitment launched its' Upskill Programme - a series of discounted professional courses to help experienced candidates gain the additional credentials needed in order to compete in today's competitive market.
