Senior J2EE Developer

Our client is a fast-growing global Plc, headquartered in Ireland.
This is a unique opportunity for an outstanding Developer to join a highly capable applications development team, working in a largely greenfield environment.

Based in Dublin, this role will report to the Software Development Manager

Job Responsibilities

• Designing, developing and delivering world-class, innovative software as part of a high performing Agile development team
• Creating outstanding software that sets the standard for the industry and delights customers
• Mentor developers through the complete software lifecycle
• Collaborating with technically diverse groups to arrive at the best solution while actively sharing concepts and knowledge with other teams
• Adapting and constantly improving approaches to ensure best for business, scalable software that has real commercial impact

Experience Required

• A proven track record of developing large scale, low latency, high transactional and secure business critical systems, preferably in a financial services or betting environment.
• Full product lifecycle experience with proven successful delivery of a product
• Strong track record of shipping high-quality product features on schedule
• 8+ years of experience and technical excellence in J2EE development, including Seam, Hibernate, JSF, EJB3, AJAX, JSP, Spring, Struts and JDBC.
• Previously worked as key member of Agile teams – championing Test Driven Development, SCRUM and XP in order to achieve results quickly and to high quality standards
• Passionate about solving complex business problems in a very fast-paced environment
• JBoss, Subversion, CVS, JUnit, TestNG, PowerMock, Eclipse, Ivy, Python, Perl
• UI Design, Front End Web Development, Concurrent Applications or Unix OS would all be advantageous
• Strong team working skills and initiative to bring innovative approaches to the team, leading by example more junior team members and providing technical expertise and guidance
• 2.1 or higher in a related discipline from a top tier academic institution; Masters a plus
