Server + Networking Engineer

Our Dublin City Centre based client is looking for a Server & Networking Engineer to join its in-house ICT team. Reporting to the ICT Operations Manager the role is responsible for ensuring that a reliable service is available to both internal corporate users and clients.

Responsibilites of the Role

Management of desktop / server environment

·         Support and integration of software systems, both general desktop packages and business specific packages

·         General application and database support

·         On-call support duties, including client event support

LAN . WAN management

·         Support, maintain, manage the Corporate LAN and WAN

·         Liaise with Carriers on installation, configuration, and problem resolution

·         Configure infrastructure based on event/client requirements 

·         Troubleshoot issues during live events

·         Data Cabling Install & Patch Management

SQL Database Management

·         Manage the SQL server environment

·         Ensure database is operating at optimum level by re-programming as required, managing capacity and monitoring data availability and integrity

·         Supporting the Business Objects Universe and reporting from such

Security

·         Management of firewall and remote access solutions

·         Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve security issues

Telephony Management

·         Administer UCCX – including user set up, hunt group and route configuration

·         Configure and install PSTN or ISND for events.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

·         3-5 yrs experience in VMware Server implementation and Microsoft server support

·         MSCE qualification

·         Expertise in Microsoft Client Server

·         Strong trouble-shooting and resolution skills

·         Evidence of a strong customer service focus

·         Strong team-working and communication skills

·          Cisco qualifications and SQL experience would be a distinct advantage
