SENIOR
RISK MANAGER
Our Financial Services client has a
vacancy for a senior level Risk Management role to provide leadership and
support across our client’s organisation, and specifically to our Client’s Board
in meeting its risk management and internal control responsibilities.
The Senior Risk Manager will have dual
reporting, both to executive management and to Group Risk. Additionally the
role will require close liaison on a day to day basis with senior management
both within and across our client’s organisation, including board directors,
senior operational managers, business development and project teams. The role
will also work closely with other risk professionals across the division, in Ireland
and the UK, as well as the Compliance and Internal Audit teams.

awareness of risk management across the organisation and exert influence on
those individuals with direct responsibility for managing specific risks – the
ability to influence the thinking and actions of senior managers will be as
important as more tangible deliverables

Job
holder will help to develop and embed the policies, processes and systems that
comprise the risk framework; in particular the identification, assessment,
control, monitoring and reporting of risks undertaken within the
business.

Become a
key part of the local management team and contribute to the strategic plans and
objectives of the business and their achievement.
·
Through
the Group’s risk system as well as other tools and techniques, facilitate a
pro-active and continuous risk management culture, rather than a periodic form
filling or compliance exercise.
Key Responsibilities
·
Facilitate
risk awareness across businesses and embedding of risk management
disciplines, through training, workshops and one to one sessions.
·
Provide
an independent risk perspective on key initiatives, including new products,
ventures, outsourcing/offshoring, re-engineering proposals and significant new
projects.
·
Critically
review/challenge the reporting of business risks to the Client and other
relevant business risk committees and boards, thereby providing the business
with an independent layer of analysis, review and challenge to ensure risk
registers and dashboards (for example) meet the required businesses quality
standards.

Lead the
development of the client’s risk modeling capabilities, including stress
testing and scenario analysis, enabling the calculation of (operational) risk
capital through the ICAAP (Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process).

Form and
manage effective relationships with other risk professionals across the
organisation (and externally), including Compliance and Audit, flagging
emerging market and regulatory issues that need to be addressed from a risk
perspective.

Assist
the Fraud Risk Coordinator in raising awareness of fraud risks and related anti
fraud controls, ensuring such risks are properly considered and managed across the
businesses and fraud response plans and reporting are embedded, in accordance
with the Group’s Fraud Policy.

Act
as a guardian of the Group’s Information Security policies in relation to all
businesses, ensuring relevant measures are in place to safeguard confidential
client, customer and proprietary information.

Facilitate
the work of the Risk Committee, by helping to organise meeting agendas, papers
and minutes. Responsible for the generation of risk reports for to business
boards and the Division’s Risk Committee.

Encourage
the sharing of best practice and issues resolution across business areas.
·
Ad hoc
risk management presentations to clients, regulators and other agencies as may
be required from time to time.
Experience
·
5 years +
experience in the risk management environment at management level (ideally with
experience in an audit role being beneficial).
·
Up to
date knowledge and experience in operational/enterprise wide risk management
and risk modelling techniques (stress testing and scenario analysis).
·
Working
knowledge of risk management techniques in relation to derivative instruments.
·
A broad
knowledge of risk and control techniques across the risk classes, coupled with
a deeper knowledge of specific risks such as information security and fraud
risks.

Good
knowledge of the technical and regulatory challenges facing organisations operating
in the financial services industry.

Gravitas,
with a track record of working with board level and other senior managers
·
Excellent
interpersonal, influencing and written skills
·
Good
presentation skills with knowledge of Powerpoint, Excel and Word
