Job Description: .NET Software Developer (Junior)

Our client, a Financial Services company, is looking for .NET Developers to help implement an extensive software development program for one of its leading-edge products. The company is a comprehensive regulatory compliance and risk management business that helps financial organizations manage risk and improve efficiency and effectiveness across their enterprise. The product is used by financial institutions to control code of ethics surveillance and compliance risks by automating the process and identifying conflicts of interest. As part of a globalization initiative and to accommodate International clients, several major enhancements will be made to this product.
The client operates an agile Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) - on SCRUM and FDD principles. As such, the successful applicants will be working in multi-disciplinary teams (Analysis/Design, Development, QA) and so a commitment to and experience of team working is important. They are based in central Dublin. The key responsibilities and Qualifications are outlined below.

Job Responsibilities

• The Developer will review business requirements/technical specifications and document gaps in specification that need to be addressed before design/coding can start
• Review/Create necessary design documents and keep them current
• Participate in Database Design activities as required
• Participate in proof of concept, coding and support activities as required
• Document unit test cases and perform unit testing
• Ensure coding standards are followed
• Ensure version control
• Ensure performance requirements are met
• Work with senior developers on providing estimates
• Provide support to Professional Services and Technical support teams as necessary
• Notify Tech Manager/Project Manager of any anticipated schedule slippage
• Ensure quality objectives are met as per project requirements
• Escalating issues that may impact delivery,  quality, and team morale to the Tech Manager

Required Experience/Skills

• 5+ Years of software development experience in progressive roles with strong Technical focus
• 3+ Years of strong web application design and development skills using ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#
• 3+ Years of design and development with XML Web Services
• 3+ Years of Database Design and development experience using SQL Server
• 3+ Years of implementing web applications using IIS 6.0 or above Web Server
• Strong object-oriented analysis and design skills and experience creating class-diagrams, sequence diagrams and detailed technical design documents
• Experience designing multi-tiered, secure, scalable and highly available web applications
• Strong focus on Data Security
• Experience with developing SSIS packages (SQL Server) and ETL processes
• Experience with Crystal Reports and/or similar reporting tools necessary
• Experience with .NET Framework 4 preferred
• Experience with Javascript/CSS
• Experience working with remote teams preferred
• Excellent communication skills. Fluency in English essential.
• BSc in Computer Science and/or related work experience required
