This week has been a very busy one for schools all across the country as the CAO application process comes to a close. Our A.L.I role models have been very busy visiting schools all over Ireland and bringing their technology career stories to Transition Year students who are preparing to make Leaving Cert subject choices in the coming weeks.
Following Aoidhbhin Durkin’s talk last week at Sancta Maria College in Rathfarnham, which was the first talk of 2017, Naomi Freeman visited the students of Loreto Secondary School in Swords this week. Naomi is the CTO and Co-Founder of Heuristext, which is an AI and social impact company making the internet easier to read for everyone, everywhere.
Naomi spoke to the Transition Year students about her company’s acceptance into the Women’s Startup Lab and her exciting travels and experience in Silicon Valley. Women’s Startup Lab is an investment company and invest in founder, startup, eco-system and fund. Their manifesto is to see women create and lead venture-backed opportunities that influence the world.
Naomi’s visit will be followed by a visit to Newtown School in Waterford by Tapadoo UX/UI Designer Sona Harrisson next week. Sona’s visit is an extra special one as she will be visiting her old school and sharing her career story with a new group of TY students.
